Article 25 of the Swiss Insurance Supervision Act

Annual financial report and regulatory report

1 The insurance companies shall produce annually, as of 31 December, an annual report consisting of the annual accounts, a management report and, if prescribed by law, consolidated accounts. If the insurance company is part of an insurance group or insurance conglomerate, consolidated accounts must be filed in any case.

2 In addition, they shall produce a regulatory report each year. FINMA shall determine which requirements this report must fulfil and shall specify the information and documents to be enclosed.

3 Insurance companies shall file the annual report as well as the regulatory report concerning the financial year just ended with FINMA no later than the following 30 April. Insurance companies which only operate reinsurance shall submit the reports no later than on 30 June.

4 Foreign insurance companies shall file a separate annual report as well as a separate regulatory report for the financial year just ended with respect to their activities in Switzerland.

5 The annual accounts are published in FINMA’s report (article 48).

6 FINMA may order interim reporting. In addition, it may impose special requirements for the annual report.
